Colonial Villas
This design shows a typical house built at the turn of the century. It is most typical of Wellington houses where the steep hills made high narrow buildings appropriate. Thorndon, close to the centre of Wellington has several examples of houses in this style. Charted design.

Colonial Cottage
This cottage was built in 1858 and is typical of the homes of the majority of early settlers who came out to New Zealand at that time. The cottage remained in the hands of the Wallis family, who had first built it, until 1977. It is now maintained by the Wellington City Council for the public to visit and is furnished as a typical pioneer home.
Worked in Tent Stitch, Straight Stitch and Twill Stitch.
